The Metadata Tab in the Item Editor

September 16, 2016 Uberflip Customer Success

The Metadata tab in the Item Editor allows you to change the Description, URL Path, Author and Status for Items in your Hub.

Using the Metadata tab in the Item Editor will give you access to updating the Description for your Item.

Description

Content entered here will be included on the Item Tile (if the title of the Item isn't too long) and will show up in search results.

Customizable URL Paths (or Vanity URLs)

Entering a new URL Path for the Item will add it to a list of URLs that can be used to access that Item. Keep in mind that if you remove a URL Path, users will land on a 404 page if they navigate to that URL.

Thumbnail URL

This is the URL for the image that is included in the Item Tile. Click the magnifying glass icon to upload or choose an image from the Images section of your Hub.

Author

Add an Author for the Item, change the Author, remove or add new Author to your Hub that will be included on this Item.

Status

Change the status if the Item between Show and / or Hide.

Created Date & Publish Date

The 'Created Date' is the date the Item was created in your Hub. The 'Publish Date' is the date the Item was first published (ie. the 'Publish' button at the bottom of the post was clicked for Items created inside the Hub).

Items are ordered based on publish date. So changing the 'Publish Date' in this section will control where the Item shows up in the Stream.

By default, your publish date will show on your item tile, but you can choose to hide it by checking the box labeled "Hide Publish Date".

Tags

Use this field to tag your Item with any words or combination of words you like. If you've already used a Tag for another Item, begin typing it and it will display so you can select it.
