When a visitor fills out a Form CTA in your Hub, it's a good idea to immediately send them a follow-up email thanking them for downloading your content.
Here's how to get started.
Step 1 - Create a New Smart Campaign
Log-in to your Marketo account and create a new Smart Campaign for your workflow. Select a Folder, give your Smart Campaign a name, and enter a description. Then click Create.
Step 2 - Configure Smart List
Once your Smart Campaign is set-up, it's time to configure your Smart List to find the prospects or customers who have downloaded a specific piece of your content.
While there are ultimately a number of ways you can find users who have downloaded a specific piece of content from your Hub, the easiest ways are usually by using Filters for Lead Source, List Membership, Conversion Item ID, or Conversion Item Title.
In the example below, we've used a Lead Source Filter to find users who have completed the Form CTA that is gating eBook 1.
Step 3 -Design Email
Time to get creative! Using Marketo's Design Studio, craft a follow-up email to your prospect or customer. This is where you should say thanks and provide any additional information about the content and your business. As a best practice, also make sure to include a link to the content that the user requested access to.
Step 4 - Set Flow
Once you're follow-up email has been created, it's time to set the Flow for your Smart Campaign. This can be as advanced as you need it to be (i.e. you can also change lead scores, notify lead owners, add to various lists, change program statuses, etc.), but the important thing is to make sure the follow-up email you've created is present near the beginning of the Flow.
In the example below, you can see we've selected the email we just created called "eBook 1 Email Program - Follow Up Email" as the email to send immediately when a user is added to our Smart List.
That's it! Sit back, relax, and watch your Uberflip-Marketo marketing engine work.
