How to Add a Pinterest Stream to Your Hub

November 20, 2014 Uberflip Customer Success

By using RSS feeds from Pinterest, you can easily add a stream of your Pinterest content to your Hub.

Pinterest RSS feeds exist at two levels:

  1. RSS feeds for Pinterest Users
  2. RSS feeds for Pinterest Boards

Both can be used to add Pinterest content to your Hub.

Adding a Stream From a Pinterest User

Adding a stream of Pinterest content from a user is a great way to bring through your own Pinterest content or Pinterest content from a user you admire. To find the RSS feed for a Pinterest user, just add /feed.rss to the back of a user's publicly facing Pinterest URL.

For example, Uberflip's Pinterest content can be found at http://www.pinterest.com/uberflip/. By adding /feed.rss to the back of the URL, you'll be able to see our Pinterest RSS feed.

To add the feed to your Hub, just copy the RSS feed's URL (in the case of the above example, http://www.pinterest.com/uberflip/feed.rss) and find your way to the Manage Content page inside your Hub. It may seem strange, but you're going to click Add a Blog Stream. In the first field, paste the Pinterest RSS feed and click 'Connect' below.

That's it! You now have a new stream of content from a Pinterest user! You can manage each individual piece of content from your Pinterest Board the same way you'd manage any other item.

Adding a Stream From a Pinterest Board

Adding a stream of Pinterest content from a Board is a great way to bring through targeted Pinterest content from any user based on topics, themes, or industries. To find the RSS feed for a Pinterest Board, just add .rss to the back of the Board's publicly facing URL.

For example, Uberflip has a Pinterest Board for infographics called Infographic Central. This Board can be found at http://www.pinterest.com/uberflip/infographic-central. By adding .rss to the back of the URL, you'll be able to see our Pinterest Board's RSS feed.

To add the feed to your Hub, just copy the RSS feed's URL (in the case of the above example, http://www.pinterest.com/uberflip/infographic-central.rss) and find your way to the 'Manage Content' page inside your Hub. Again, although it may seem strange, you're going to click 'Add a Blog Stream'. In the first field, paste the Pinterest Board's RSS feed and click 'Connect' below.

That's it! You now have a new stream of content from a specific Pinterest Board. You can manage each individual piece of content from your Pinterest Board the same way you'd manage any other item.

*NOTE: If you choose to import Pinterest content using RSS feeds, the labels that appear underneath your Pinterest tiles will still read "Read Blog" by default, as the system will treat RSS-driven content as blog posts. If you wish to change this label, you can use the Hub's Custom Labels feature to make the label more generic (i.e. "Read Content").
